I’ve been listening to nothing but mewithoutYou’s new album for the past four days.

And it is the most amazing album I’ve ever heard in my life.
That’s probably an exaggeration, and I probably even like their last album better, but as of right now, Ten Stories is the greatest music of all time.

So apparently,

I have viral… something. A fancy medical term for a cold.

All day I’ve had this weird feeling whenever I swallowed—not pain, not difficultly, just weirdness—so at the end of the night, I had Jackson look down my throat with a flashlight.

Apparently I have little white thingys on my tonsils.
Uh-oh.

So I’m freaking out, then my mom starts freaking out and saying that I must have strep throat, then my dad’s like “huh, maybe”, and then he starts asking if I ate something weird, suggesting that I might be having an allergic reaction. Then I’m freaking out even more, insisting on checking WebMD (which I’ve never had good experience with, by the way), and Jackson’s trying to convince me not to because he knows that I’m just gonna freak out more, but eventually we both realize that I’m going to be even more frantic if I’m left in the dark than if I were to just have an idea of what I might possibly have.

Then once I had the Symptom Checker out, as I was reading the list of symptoms to choose from, I started freaking out even more, so Jackson started looking for me.

Turns out that it’s essentially the common cold.
The virus just attacked my tonsils harder than it usually does.

Anyway.
For now, it appears that a crisis was averted.

Here’s to praying that it doesn’t go any further than just that!
